Websearch Builtin Tool

Use OpenAI's built-in web_search_preview tool with FileTools to save search results through the OpenAI Responses API.

Usage

Set up your virtual environment

uv venv --python 3.12
source .venv/bin/activate

Set your API key

export OPENAI_API_KEY=xxx

Install dependencies

uv pip install -U openai agno

Run Agent

Save the code above as websearch_builtin_tool.py, then run:

python websearch_builtin_tool.py
