Atomic Mail Workflow
====================
Runs AtomicMailTools (https://atomicmail.ai) end to end inside a deterministic
Agno workflow -- no LLM required. The three steps mirror the toolkit's tools:
1. Register (or reuse) an inbox via the autonomous proof-of-work signup flow.
2. Read the most recent messages in that inbox.
3. Send a plain-text email from the inbox.
The username and recipient are read from `additional_data` (with environment
fallbacks) so the same workflow can provision a throwaway inbox and mail a test
message without editing the file:
export ATOMIC_MAIL_USERNAME=my-agent-inbox # 5-21 chars
export ATOMIC_MAIL_TEST_RECIPIENT=you@example.com
export ATOMIC_MAIL_CREDENTIALS_DIR=./tmp/atomicmail # optional, isolates creds
.venvs/demo/bin/python cookbook/91_tools/atomic_mail_tools.py

)Choose a unique username of 5–21 characters and replace you@example.com with your own test recipient before running. The script provisions an inbox and sends a real email. It saves credentials in the configured directory so later runs can reuse the inbox; it requires no model API key.
Stop on a failed step
Steps default to skipping failures, so success=False alone does not stop later steps in this cookbook. To stop before reading or sending after a registration failure, configure all three steps before running the workflow:
from agno.workflow.types import HumanReview
for step in atomic_mail_workflow.steps:
step.human_review = HumanReview(on_error="fail")With this policy, run() raises when a step fails. Handle that exception in your application; a skipped failure can otherwise leave the overall run completed.
Run the Example
Set up your virtual environment
uv venv --python 3.12
source .venv/bin/activateInstall dependencies
uv pip install -U agno fastapiExport environment variables
export ATOMIC_MAIL_USERNAME="your-unique-inbox"
export ATOMIC_MAIL_TEST_RECIPIENT="you@example.com"
export ATOMIC_MAIL_CREDENTIALS_DIR="./tmp/atomicmail"Run the example
Save the code above as atomic_mail_tools.py, then run:
