Run the example

Complete the shared environment and database setup first.

Set a published HTTPS llms.txt index and a credential for the trusted sync caller:

export PAGE_DEMO_INDEX_URL="https://docs.agno.com/llms.txt"
export PAGE_DEMO_SYNC_TOKEN="local-demo-sync-secret"
python cookbook/05_agent_os/27_public_pages/public_pages.py sync

Sync processes the configured index and makes embedding calls. Start with a small index that you control. Inspect the printed result: partial synchronization is not a successful complete refresh. After publication succeeds:

python cookbook/05_agent_os/27_public_pages/public_pages.py chat
python cookbook/05_agent_os/27_public_pages/public_pages.py serve

In another terminal with the same environment activated:

curl http://localhost:7777/readyz
curl http://localhost:7777/mcp/server-card
curl -N http://localhost:7777/agents/docs/runs \
  -F 'message=How do I create an agent with tools?' -F stream=true
python cookbook/05_agent_os/27_public_pages/public_pages.py mcp-client

The application selects the initial search query through get_docs_context and places the result in its instructions. The same explicit search, read, and grep tools are available to the model and MCP clients. Reads must preserve both revision and next_offset when continuing.

Trigger a protected refresh

From a trusted terminal with PAGE_DEMO_SYNC_TOKEN set:

curl http://localhost:7777/workflows/sync-docs/runs \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $PAGE_DEMO_SYNC_TOKEN" \
  -F 'message={"reason":"manual"}' -F stream=false -F background=true

The accepted request returns HTTP 202 with run and session IDs. Poll with those IDs and the same credential:

curl "http://localhost:7777/workflows/sync-docs/runs/<run_id>?session_id=<session_id>" \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $PAGE_DEMO_SYNC_TOKEN"

Check the terminal status and the sync step’s result. Keep the sync credential out of browser and MCP clients. Public chat, MCP, and protected workflow access have different admission rules; see Public surface. The local MCP host allowlist and CORS origins need explicit configuration before hosting this app.
